6TH ANNUAL CHARITY
GOLF TOURNAMENT

The Harbor Rats started with a group of local businessmen who meet at Harbor Cigars, in Destin, Florida for fellowship. Beyond sharing stories about their lives, politics, and faith, this tight-knit group of community minded people come together to support one another through times of need, whether it is financially, personal accountability, or just to bend each other’s ear. In 2018, they discovered that golf could be a powerful tool for bonding and building relationships.

Their annual Harbor Rats Charity Golf Tournament was born, providing an opportunity to give back to the community that has supported them over the years. The success of the 2023 event allowed them to donate $40,000 to the Sandestin Foundation for Kids and $20,000 to the Alaqua Animal Refuge. As the tournament continues to grow and expand, so have their goals. They hope to add a third mission partner with a military component this year. The plan going forward is to grow their philanthropy by growing their ongoing fundraising in support of these deserving charities.
